Hide vs. Replace: choosing the right rule for each app
ScreenVeil gives each app two honest options. Here's when to reach for each.
Hide
Hiding removes an app's windows from the shared feed entirely — as if they weren't there. The app stays open and fully usable on your Mac. Use Hide for anything the audience simply shouldn't know exists: personal messaging, unrelated client work, your inbox.
Replace
Replace swaps a window for a neutral placeholder card in the feed. It signals 'something is here, but it's private.' Use Replace when hiding a window would look strange — for example, when the audience expects a window in that spot but the contents are sensitive.
A simple rule of thumb
Default to Hide. Reach for Replace only when the absence of a window would be more distracting than a tasteful placeholder.
