  1. Latestv0.1.0 · build 38October 9, 2026

Smoother privacy effects and a Dock that blends with your wallpaper.

    • Better

Fixed the dark backing behind the macOS Dock in Privacy Screen when desktop wallpaper is enabled.

    • Better

Reduced repeated drawing for privacy cards, backgrounds and notification covers.

    • Better

Made Dock validation faster while preserving its full-frame privacy checks.

  2. v0.1.0 · build 37October 9, 2026

Smoother Dock updates and more consistent sharing profiles.

    • Better

New selected-app profiles include desktop wallpaper and the macOS Dock, with separate choices for each profile. Existing saved choices are preserved.

    • Better

Dock-only changes update just the Dock area while reusing the rest of the shared image.

    • Better

Settings opens in the same familiar window from the menu, shortcut or menu-bar controls.

  3. v0.1.0 · build 36October 9, 2026

Show your macOS Dock in Privacy Screen.

    • Better

Enable Show macOS Dock in Settings > Sharing before starting Privacy Screen (macOS 14.2 or later).

    • Better

The real Dock is shared, including badges and minimized-window previews. Review it before sharing.

    • Better

Dock sharing is off by default. Unexpected Dock expansion covers the shared output.

  4. v0.1.0 · build 35October 8, 2026

Keep your desktop wallpaper behind the work you share.

    • Better

Enable Show desktop wallpaper in Settings > Sharing before starting Privacy Screen.

    • Better

Your wallpaper image is processed locally; the existing private-app filtering stays in place.

    • Better

Wallpaper sharing is off by default. If the image cannot be loaded, the background stays black.

  5. v0.1.0 · build 34October 8, 2026

A fresh ScreenVeil icon and more reliable Pro access.

    • Better

A new ScreenVeil icon throughout the app, with a matching menu-bar symbol.

    • Better

Pro access uses signed purchase verification linked to your verified account.

    • Better

Keep using Pro during a network outage for up to 72 hours after your last successful verification.

    • Better

Settings show when offline access expires. Restore purchases with your verified account; contact support if an older checkout purchase does not appear.

  6. v0.1.0 · build 32September 30, 2026

We learned to count days, too.

    • Better

Usage data now counts each day ScreenVeil is open. It used to count only launches, and most people leave ScreenVeil open for weeks. It's still anonymous, and you can still turn it off in Settings > General.

  7. v0.1.0 · build 31September 27, 2026

    We learned to count. Anonymously.

    • New

Usage data. ScreenVeil now sends anonymous counts, like "someone finished setup" or "a session started". Never your email, your apps, your window titles or your screen. Turn it off in Settings > General.

    • Fixed

A fib on the trial screen. It said your email went to our payment provider. It never did, and now the screen says so.

    • Better

Opening ScreenVeil no longer creates a record with our payment provider. That waits until you sign in to buy or restore Pro. Just looking is free.

  8. v0.1.0 · build 30September 25, 2026

    Updates that knock first

    • New

Important updates ask first. A dialog makes sure you don't miss them, and it waits until your session ends. No surprise restarts mid-pitch.

    • New

An Updated note in the menu. After an update, the menu says so and links to what's new. Hi, you found it.

    • Better

What's new, one click away. Settings > General has a link right next to your version.

  9. v0.1.0 · build 29September 25, 2026

Hide one window, keep the rest

    • New

Hide a window. Keep a single window out of the Privacy Screen, like Google Meet in its own Chrome window. The rest of Chrome stays in the share.

    • Better

Tidier sharing settings. Zoom, notification banners and window options now live together under Also keep out of the shared window.

    • Better

Window lists with faces. Each window shows its app icon and title, and the list refreshes when you open it.

  10. v0.1.0 · build 28September 25, 2026

    It updates itself now

    • New

Automatic updates. ScreenVeil checks once a day, downloads in the background and installs when you quit, or when you click Restart in the menu.

    • Better

Never mid-meeting. It won't restart during a Privacy Screen session. Rather do it yourself? Turn it off in Settings > General.

    • Better

Signed and sealed. Every update is signed by ScreenVeil and notarized by Apple.

  11. v0.1.0 · build 27September 24, 2026

    Less empty space, more menu

    • Fixed

The menu bar panel fits its content. No more empty gap above Cover feed and Focus. It still scrolls on small screens.

  12. v0.1.0 · build 26September 24, 2026

    Fewer paragraphs, more buttons

    • Better

Controls, not essays. Settings and the menu show controls. Details hide behind small info buttons, and how-to steps are icons.

    • New

Free sessions as dots. One dot for each session left. Counting has never been easier.

    • Better

Pro in one card. Your sessions and one button to get Pro.

    • Better

Simpler Focus setup. One card, then two rows once your shortcuts exist.

    • Fixed

Honest test notifications. The test notification message now matches your banner setting.

  13. v0.1.0 · build 25September 24, 2026

    No more black flashes

    • Fixed

Smooth app switching. Opening or quitting an app during a session no longer flashes the Privacy Screen black. New apps join without restarting capture. It still covers for a blink when something has to disappear, like an app you just marked private.

    • New

Banners stay off your share. macOS notification banners and alerts are left out of the Privacy Screen by default. You still see them. Your audience doesn't. Tested on macOS 26.1.

    • Heads up

Not everything is a banner. Pop-ups an app draws itself still appear unless that app is private, and notification sounds aren't filtered. Try Send test notification in Settings > Sharing to check.

    • Fixed

Tweak settings mid-session. Renaming a profile or changing cleanup and layout settings no longer interrupts a running session.

  14. v0.1.0 · build 24September 22, 2026

    A fresh menu bar icon

    • New

Monochrome menu bar icon. It matches the app icon and adapts to light and dark menu bars.

    • Better

Offline first launch. The app and DMG are signed, notarized and stapled, so first launch works without internet.

  15. v0.1.0 · build 23September 20, 2026

    About that green outline

    • New

Zoom outline tip. Start sharing with Zoom in front, and a tip at the bottom-right explains Zoom's green outline once Privacy Screen hides.

    • Better

Dismiss once, gone for good. It also closes when sharing ends. The instructions stay in Settings.

    • Better

Looks good in any light. Light and dark versions, a short outline animation, and support for Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency.

  16. v0.1.0 · build 22September 20, 2026

    A proper welcome

    • New

Guided setup. Finish setup with a quick Privacy Screen introduction and a menu bar tip.

    • New

A friendly reminder. Keep the Privacy Screen window open while you pick it for sharing. It hides once sharing starts. You can turn the reminder off for good.

    • New

ScreenVeil Pro. $9.99 once, with email-verified checkout and Restore Pro.

    • Better

Three free sessions. Changing your email doesn't refill them. Nice try, though.

    • Fixed

Fewer capture restarts. Opening private apps or Zoom no longer restarts capture for no reason.

    • Better

Cleaner Pro status. Purchase recovery help only shows up when you check access.

  17. v0.1.0The beginning

    Hello, world. Privately.

    • New

ScreenVeil, version one. A Privacy Screen with per-app hide rules, built on ScreenCaptureKit.

    • New

The essentials. Meeting profiles, a panic shortcut and menu bar control.

    • Better

Stays on your Mac. Screen processing happens locally. Screen content is never uploaded.

    • Better

Signed and notarized. For macOS 14 and later.

You made it to the beginning. Thanks for scrolling.
